New Moon in Ardra – June 28, 2022

New Moon in Gemini at 13 degrees Ardra, at 10:50 pm EST.

Ardra translates to the moist one, and is the fixed star Betelgeuse, in the constellation of Orion.

Ardra is entirely in sidereal Gemini between 6 degrees 40 minutes and 20 degrees. Its symbol is a head, depicting the thinking logical nature of Gemini ruled by Mercury, but also the head of the demon, Rahu, which is the ruler of Ardra. Another symbol is a teardrop, signifying tears, sadness but also rainstorms. A diamond is another symbol, signifying renewal and clarity after the storm.

Jupiter is making an exact square to the New Moon, suggesting an undesired exaggeration and amplification of emotions, and an overflow of tears/sadness, water/rainstorms, and floods. Also, we may receive undesirable information, new knowledge, which ultimately may lead us to higher awareness & consciousness in the future.

Ardra is a challenging lunar mansion, it teaches its natives to toughen up in life, face their storms and embrace their unique path in life along with their unconventionality and originality. There is amazing depth of transformation found in Ardra, if we allow it, as well as brilliance & wisdom.

There is some significant sadness in the life of the people with planets here or with their ascendant here. This sadness is often turned into their greatest asset, i.e. courage, fearlessness & boldness, as well as important spiritual development and insight. They aren’t afraid of life’s storms, as they have learned through experience that they hold significant regeneration. This comprehension happens later in life, as they mature in age.

Ardra is ruled by Rudra, the fierce god of storms, lightning, and thunderbolts. He is a powerful form of Lord Shiva, the lord of transformation, a destructive force, which makes way for regeneration. This new Moon is a time to strengthen ourselves, emotionally, energetically, and physically, and to look at all difficulties & storms as part of life’s necessary cycles (After the storm, the Sun shines again). Its an important time for clearing old energies as well, and releasing anger in a positive way.

This New Moon indicates important painful transformation in our lives and in the world, ultimately a big shift in consciousness will occur, clearing old thinking patterns and making way for the new.

Ardra is ruled by Rahu suggesting a very “karmic” period. Rahu is currently conjunct Uranus and Mars in Aries, which means the unexpected will take place in the weeks ahead, including violence and war, but also awakenings. (Please read my last post on Mars transit in Aries).

Gemini is the 3rd sign in the natural zodiac, which deals with all forms of communication, social media, the news, information, learning, expanding our knowledge, and experiencing all that life has to offer. Gemini also deals with travel. Hence, Ardra can relate to painful news, sad information, new knowledge that brings us shock even. There could be some travel incidences, as also indicated with the transit of Mars in Aries.
