Given the malefic nature of Mars, things can get quite problematic when retrograde in transit, giving way to increased anger and violence.
The station retrograde on December 6 and the station direct on February 22 are dates to watch out for. It’s not recommended to begin a travel journey on these dates, nor anything important such as surgery.
Mars plays a crucial role in our lives as the planet of action, encompassing both intentional and goal-oriented action. He represents passion and sexual energy, alongside Venus, as well as our willpower, courage, determination, and even our perception. As the planet of energy, Mars serves as a projection of our emotions, particularly the negative ones.
Mars is also aggression, anger, self-projection, combativeness, conflict, war, and violence. While Mars can be a powerful force for accomplishment, he can also be destructive. Therefore, it’s important to comprehend and manage the influence of Mars in order to achieve positive outcomes.
I’ve seen retrograde Mars behave in interesting ways in people’s charts. Oftentimes these natives will refrain from taking necessary action when it is required. They often suppress their anger and genuine emotions, opting to evade or escape confrontation. This avoidance leads to unresolved issues, resulting in unfinished business in their interpersonal relationships and the abandonment of projects, desires, and dreams due to their inaction.
Some common traits to be aware of during this retrograde phase include passive aggressiveness, resentment, projection, and outbursts of anger.
The key to all retrogrades is to use increased caution and adopt a more deliberate pace in all endeavors.
It’s a fantastic time for meditation and spiritual practices, as the energies are internalized and potent. Learning proper workout techniques can be beneficial during this period.
While in Cancer, from October 20 to January 20, Mars is debilitated and will pour its energy into domestic affairs, home and family life, safety issues, and will have a harder time dealing with emotions and feelings.
Mars turns retrograde on December 6th at 12 degrees of Pushya. This may lead to potential domestic safety concerns, increased conflicts, and heightened threats of violence. The opposing position of Pluto in Capricorn, as discussed in my previous post, makes things worse. Consequently, resulting in an escalation of hostility and tension. The real estate market may experience adverse effects during this period.
Mars will then move back into Gemini on January 20th, where it will complete its retrograde phase at 22 degrees 48 minutes of Punarvasu on February 23rd. During this retrograde period in Gemini, there may be travel complications, misunderstandings, and potentially even technological issues such as cyber attacks.
The following individuals will be more impacted: those with unresolved anger issues or trauma, those going through the Mars dasha or antar-dasha, those with hard Mars-Moon aspects, and those with Mars retrograde in their chart.
It’s useful to look at this transit as an opportunity for healing, which calls for introspection, accountability and authenticity.
